Part 1 of 5 – The Beginning

This project began with the reconstruction of three failing seawalls along the Hudson River. The existing mix of stone revetment and poured concrete walls had deteriorated beyond repair. After careful assessment, OCC recommended—supported by engineering input and the property owner—to remove the old structures entirely and replace them with one continuous stone revetment.

The result was a unified design that provides superior protection against erosion and diffuses the powerful wave action caused by passing ships and storms. The seamless stone revetment not only strengthens the shoreline but also enhances its natural beauty, a result that left the property owners especially pleased.
